National membership of ISO/TC46/SC2: 16 'P' members: Austria, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany,Greece, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Russian Federation, and Thailand;

10 'O' members: Canada, France, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, United Kingdom and USA.

4 internal liaison members (ISO bodies or linked with ISO under the Vienna Agreement - CEN/TC304, ISO/TC46/SC3, ISO/TC46/SC4/WG1 and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC2). ISO/TC46/SC2 has the following working groups (see ISO/TC46/SC2 N 384).

WG8 Joint ISO/TC46/SC4 Working Group: Relations between transliteration and machine representation of characters
WG9 Transliteration of Thai
WG10 Transliteration of Mongolian
WG11 Transliteration of Persian; formerly in WG2

It is possible that the scope of these working groups may be expanded to cover all scripts used in official languages worldwide, and also some scripts of historical importance.
